Straight answers to common questions.
Sourcing, suppliers, pricing, shipping, customs, inspections and timelines. If your question is not here, it is one consultation away from answered.
Can Xelvora source any product?
Almost. If it is legally manufactured and importable, we can source it — from medical equipment to consumer goods. Restricted or regulated items (pharmaceuticals, certain chemicals, telecoms gear) are assessed case by case, and we flag compliance requirements at consultation stage before anything is ordered.
Do you work with small order quantities?
Yes. Through LCL sea freight and consolidation we regularly handle first orders of a few hundred units, and we negotiate factory MOQs down where the product justifies it. You do not need container-scale volume to start.
How do you choose suppliers?
Every supplier passes our five-check verification — registration, factory confirmation, licences, risk assessment and a written report — before you commit. For significant orders we add an on-site factory audit. Details are on the Supplier Verification page.
I already found a supplier myself. Can you just verify them?
Absolutely. Verification and inspection are available standalone — many clients first come to us to check an Alibaba or trade-fair supplier before paying a deposit.
Can you manufacture under my own brand?
Yes — OEM and private label is a core service: product development, tooling, branded manufacture, custom packaging and IP-aware agreements with the factory.
How does Xelvora charge?
Depending on the project: a sourcing service fee, a percentage of order value, or a fixed project rate for defined scopes like a factory audit. You get a clear, itemised quote before anything starts — and the negotiation savings we win frequently exceed our fee.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes — the first consultation, feasibility check and quotation cost nothing and carry no obligation.
Can you meet a target price?
We will tell you honestly. If your target is achievable we negotiate to reach it; if it is not realistic for the quality you need, we show you the numbers and the nearest achievable option rather than quietly cutting quality to hit a number.
Do I pay the supplier or pay Xelvora?
Either structure works. Many clients pay suppliers directly against our negotiated contract; others prefer one consolidated payment through Xelvora covering goods, freight and fees. We recommend the structure that best protects you for the specific order.
How long does delivery take?
Air freight: typically 1–2 weeks door to door. Sea freight: typically 6–10 weeks depending on origin — Turkey and the UAE are fastest to Lagos, East Asia the longest. Your quotation carries committed dates for your specific route.
Do you handle customs clearance?
Yes — HS classification, Form M/PAAR processing, duty management and port clearance are part of the end-to-end service, handled by people who do it daily.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Every order follows our 11-step tracked process with scheduled status updates, and freight legs carry standard tracking references you can check yourself.
Do you deliver outside Lagos?
Yes — last-mile delivery covers all of Nigeria, with proof of delivery and sign-off documentation. West African delivery is available on request.
What if the goods fail inspection?
They do not ship. The factory reworks or replaces at their cost — that is what our negotiated contract terms exist for — we re-inspect, and only passing goods get booked onto a vessel.
Do I get inspection evidence?
Yes — a written pass/fail report, photo evidence, defect counts by class and AQL result at every inspection stage, plus a witnessed container-loading record with seal numbers.
What standard do your inspections use?
AQL sampling under ISO 2859, benchmarked against the physical sample you approved before production. Acceptance thresholds for critical, major and minor defects are agreed with you in advance.
How fast can a first order realistically land?
Air-freight projects: commonly 3–6 weeks end to end. Sea-freight projects: commonly 8–14 weeks. Repeat orders skip the first six process steps and run dramatically faster.
What do I actually have to do during the process?
Three things: approve the supplier, approve the sample, and sign off delivery. Everything between those checkpoints is our job — you get reports, not homework.
